GCMS Families,
The start to the 2017-2018 school year is fast approaching. I wanted to take a moment and share with you some important dates and information.
First, Registration is right around the corner. Registration will be on Tuesday, August 8th from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and again from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. We strongly encourage all students to be accounted for on or before this date. If you will be unable to attend the registration date please contact your respective school office. Also, if you are new to the district contact the office to set up an appointment to register on August 9th.
High School – 217-784-4292
Middle School – 217-784-8731
Elementary School – 217-784-4278
Second, Building Access will be available to students on the 8th, 9th, and 10th for locker set up, decorating, or checking out schedules. The buildings will be closed to students and families on August 14th and 15th to allow for teacher preparation. Buildings are open from only from 7:30 – 4:00 each day.
Next, Forms and Fees can be found on the GCMS website under the respective schools and at http://gcmsk12.org/2017-2018-registration-important-forms/ I would encourage you to print and fill out as many forms as possible to expedite the registration process. Please be sure to bring residency proof, identification, and income information if filling out applications for fee or lunch waivers.

- Keep reading and practicing math facts
- Have a positive attitude about the opportunities that are ahead
- Invest in your child’s education with your time and attention
- Communicate in a productive way with school staff
