Chet McClure
Chet is our October student of the month. He was nominated for this award by Mrs. Kilee Lidwell Mcferren. Chet is the son of David & Sandra McClure of Gibson city and Ellen Nord of Bloomington.
Chet is a member of FFA, FCA, NHS, and the coop program. He is also a freshman mentor. He has served as FFA President, FFA Vice-President, & FFA Secretary, and Secretary of his class his junior & senior years. Chet has also participated in wrestling and football while in high school. Chet is a member of the Illinois junior Charolais association.
Chet was named student of the year his freshman year and was the foreign language student of the year his sophomore & junior year. In wrestling, Chet placed 5th in state in 2012 and placed 2nd in team wrestling in 2010. He is captain of the wrestling and football teams and was the MVP of the wrestling team in 2012. He was also the 2012 homecoming king. Chet is a junior deacon at the 1st Christian Church.
Chet plans to attend college in the fall with an undecided major.
