The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley School District will conduct a pre-registration for children entering kindergarten for the coming year on Wednesday and Thursday, May 8-9, 2013. The registration will be held at the GCMS Elementary School Office at 902 North Church in Gibson City from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. both mornings and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. both evenings. Kindergarten teachers will be present on Wednesday night only from 5-7 p.m.
To be eligible to enter kindergarten for the 2013 – 2014 school year a child’s parent(s) must be legal residents of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley School District and the child must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1, 2013. If available, parents should bring a copy of the child’s State or County Certified birth certificate (a complementary hospital birth certificate is not acceptable), Dental Exam, Eye Exam completed by an ophthalmologist or optometrist and physical with completed shot record written on the physical form (no separate sheets for the shot records please). Physical, Eye and Dental forms will be available for those children in need of the exams between pre-registration and the beginning of school.
Please do not wait until August to register your incoming Kindergarten student. Pre-registration is necessary in order to determine kindergarten numbers and materials.
