GCMS Elementary School is very excited to announce plans
for an Art Night to be held from 6:00 –7:30 p.m. on Monday,
October 28th. The Art Night will be a part of the weeklong
Red Ribbon Week activities being held throughout the
district.
This year’s Red Ribbon Week theme at the Elementary
School is “Life is a Work of Art – Color it Drug-Free”. The Art
Night will give elementary students a chance to learn about a
wide variety of art forms, which they may like to pursue as a
hobby or past time.
Miss Lanker, GCMS Middle School Art Teacher, and Mr.
Stone, GCMS High School Art Teacher, will be bringing
pottery wheels and clay for the students to work with. In
addition, students will have the opportunity to sculpt and
participate in a banner-making project with paint.
A highlight of Art Night will be the “Gallery of Artists”.
Numerous artists from the area representing a wide variety
of art mediums, will be on hand to display, demonstrate, and
answer questions.
There is no fee to attend the Art Night, however, students
must be accompanied by an adult. Families are also
cautioned that children could get messy – so please dress
appropriately!
