Band Registration Night is almost here!  It will be held in the Elementary music room on Thursday, September 17 between 4:00pm–8:00pm.  Your student will finalize their instrument choice on this night.  Representatives from The Music Shoppe will be present to assist with rent-to-own plans for instruments, as well as answer any questions you may have.

The
recommended method for obtaining an
instrument is on a trial rent-to-own plan through
The Music Shoppe in Normal or Champaign.  These instruments are guaranteed
to work and they provide your child with the
best chances for
success.
  If financially able, we highly
recommend renting through
The Music
Shoppe
.  You, of course, are free to
make your own arrangements for an instrument, although we ask that you seek the
advice of a music specialist before purchase.

A small number of school-owned instruments are available for use free of
charge and, though they are functioning, they are of a lesser quality than the
rent-to-own instruments.
  School-owned
instruments are on a first come, first served basis.

Band
Registration Night Schedule:

4:00-4:30 – Last name A-B

4:30-5:00 – Last name C-F

5:00-5:30 – Last name G-L

5:30-6:00 – Last name M-N

6:00-6:30 – Last name O-P

6:30-7:00 – Last name Q-R

7:00-7:30 – Last name S-V

7:30-8:00 – Last name W-Z

If you
have a conflict, we will, of course, let you to attend whenever you are
able.

Please feel free to contact me
via email ([email protected]) if you have questions.

I love reading. I love talking about books. Throughout the year, I plan on reading many books from our library. I’ll highlight favorites in this blog.
This Is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen
E / KLA

I grinned the entire time I read this. Fun and funny.

Great for: Everyone!

Sisters by Raina Telgemeier
F / TEL

All of Raina’s books were checked out after the first day of library classes. Right away I knew I wanted to read both Sisters and Smile

While I enjoyed both, Sisters was my favorite. I liked the road trip and liked the flashbacks along the way. I’m with Raina: I would not want to ride in a car with a snake!

Great for: 5-6th graders, especially those with sisters.
